Our group of 12 doctors, dentists, and nurses provided medical and dental care, health education, and the love of God to people in and around Yetebon, Ethiopia, about 2 hours south of the capital. This predominantly Muslim area welcomed us into four of their villages and we worked with local health clinics to see patients with a wide variety of health needs. We saw many people with great needs, were able to treat many with the medicines we had brought, were able to give health information to many others, and were able to share God's love with all through our actions and our attitudes.

In the process each of us also experienced anew God's love and caring for us: Our hearts were changed, our minds were enlarged, and our vision of humanity was expanded. We came away with great gratitude for what we have in our country, and we saw with fresh eyes the degree of suffering that exists in this world. The inconveniences and annoyances that often bring such dismay into our lives suddenly do not seem to carry the same weight as they might have in the past.
