A Reflection Of Life
My Youngest Sister
Marcy Belton Warren
~~
Thank you Sandy.
And thank you David and Travis.
My name is Steve Belton—and I'm the youngest of Marcy's three brothers.
I too have great memories of childhood family fun that echo the remarks made by Travis and David—in the pool, the croquet and badminton,
playing down by the brook, or in the barn during the summer, and in the winter—sledding, tobogganing, and skating on the frozen parts of the brook,
or down at Patton Pond.
Wanda and I remember Marcy's generosity as a high schooler when we visited as young marrieds in Hamilton—giving up her bedroom so willingly. And we
remember the later visits she made with our family through the years—when she would pay such great attention to our kids—and even later
still to our grandkids. She added much to all of our lives.
But in truth some of the most significant times I had with Marcy—and I'm so very grateful that these took place—were later in life, during
some introspective times of healing and growth, when she was wrestling with some of the deeper issues of life.
I am forever grateful for so much when I remember Marcy, but especially that we had those times together.
My sister Marcy was such a good person.
She had wit and intellect, and delighted in the company of good people.
She was a strong and determined soul, and had an indomitable spirit that would not give up.
She sought that which all of us want—inner peace, a joyful heart, and the warmth of honest companions.
Sandy, my brother, I love you, and thank you for all that you have been in Marcy's life.
You were her treasure, and a source of the greatest joy to her. Thank you.
To Marcy, I love you, I have a deep and abiding respect for you, and I will miss your joy, and the beauty that you brought to life.
