Reflections From Life Itself
Beauty Blossoms in Springtime
This poem, while in some respects containing universals which apply to anyone and everyone, was truly borne and shaped in my
thoughts of my granddaughter Adelle. Perhaps more than most, she was in a place to understand and
resonate with this concept of passing through the refiner's fire, of being molded and shaped by forces outside of her,
by those events and relationships that come upon us uninvited and often unwanted.
Yet those selfsame events perform the miracle of shaping us and molding us into the person we are destined to be.
Adelle is a gem, a one-of-a-kind dazzling gem created by none other than the ultimate perfect Creator,
and here we sit ready to discover with her the ways in which she will blossom come springtime.
I offered this to Adelle in love as she celebrated her nineteenth birthday! May this encourage readers, as I pray it did Adelle,
to seek the Designer Himself, as He alone is the trustworthy guiding star who will always be with us.
Written with love as always.
Beauty Blossoms in Springtime
For Adelle
Wintertime field of goldenrod,
Early morning dew, icy
Jewels bedazzle,
Awaiting day's warmth,
Fleeting as they are beautiful.
So to youth,
Season by everlasting season,
May Truth be the guiding Star;
Love, Refiner's crucible,
Ephemeral glorious youth.
Evanescent yet enduring,
O hope eternal yours;
Of the forge
Certain beauty
Will blossom come springtime.
With love always, Papa
