Reflections From Life Itself
Ten Thousand More
A poem for Wanda, perhaps on a Christmas card or birthday card, accompanied by a photo from the very early days of our courtship, recording one of the first kisses enjoyed by each of us.
Ah! The romantic days of youth! We met at age 18 in the fall of 1969; engaged in June 1970; married in August 1971.
A wild courtship indeed!
Ten Thousand More
This first kiss
Now tastes as sweet
As the memory of our wedded bliss,
My love.
Like a harvest moonbeam's fire
Together, radiant & strong
As the wind in your hair
Still delighting my eyes
More, now more
Than you or I could
Have then imagined.
Ah, delectable first kiss —
And now
On to ten thousand more!
