Love On A Moonbeam
Remembering Missy

I was mesmerized by the notion, in looking at the moon at night, that Missy could somehow also see that same moon from her vantage point. While not at all workable as a theological thesis, it somehow brought comfort to this dad's broken heart, and remained one of the unshakeable images held dearly throughout many years.

This poem was borne of that thought, of the moonbeam itself carrying with it the love between a father and a daughter, maybe akin to Jacob's ladder bringing connection between the earthly and the spiritual realms.

Love On A Moonbeam

Two loves danced on a moonbeam
Soft with dew's
Angelic caress,
Softer still with a love grown
Strong and true, a
Time-woven anointed love,
Mysterious
Beautiful peace
Eternal.

Two loves dancing on a moonbeam in
Tender heavenly embrace.

Two loves.
